South Korea's finance minister told reporters on Friday that the justice ministry's proposal to ban cryptocurrency exchanges in the country needs more coordination among ministries
Earlier in the day, the justice ministry reportedly softened its stance after remarks from its minister roiled the cryptocurrency market on Thursday
News agency Yonhap reported that the justice ministry said in a text message to reporters that, while it had been preparing a bill to shut down all cryptocurrency exchanges, it will first carefully consider the move with related government agencies
Previously, Justice Minister Park Sang-ki said his ministry was preparing legislation that basically would ban any cryptocurrency trading through the country's exchanges
